Associate Optometrist

EyeTech Optometry is a growing independent practice in Richmond, Ontario, serving patients from the surrounding Ottawa area, including Kanata, Barrhaven, and Stittsville. Since opening in 2022, we have built our practice around thorough examinations, clear patient education, and responsive care.

About the Role:

We are seeking a friendly, patient-focused Associate Optometrist to join Dr. Lima and our established support team. The practice actively supports scheduling and patient growth as your availability expands. A previous associate maintained a full patient schedule while working part-time with the practice.

What You Will Do:

Perform comprehensive eye examinations and assess patients’ visual and ocular health.
Develop appropriate care plans and explain findings, treatment options, and follow-up recommendations clearly.
Assess urgent eye concerns and collaborate with the team to provide timely care when clinically appropriate.
Use diagnostic imaging and other clinical resources to support patient assessment and treatment.
Maintain accurate electronic patient records using Optosys and follow established documentation workflows.
Collaborate with reception, pre-testing, and optical staff to deliver an organized, consistent patient experience.
Arrive prepared for scheduled appointments and demonstrate respect for patients’ and colleagues’ time.
Qualifications:

Doctor of Optometry degree.
Registration with the College of Optometrists of Ontario authorizing practice before beginning clinical work.
Strong clinical judgement, attention to detail, and a commitment to thorough patient care.
Clear communication skills and a patient, approachable manner.
Willingness to learn and use Optosys and adapt to established clinic workflows.
A dependable, collaborative approach to working with the entire practice team.
New graduates and experienced optometrists are welcome. No minimum years of experience are required.

Technology and Team Support:

Our clinic offers resources to support full-scope optometric care, including:

Zeiss OCT imaging.
Humphrey Visual Field Analyzer.
Optos retinal imaging.
IPL and RF dry eye treatment.
Dry eye imaging and axial length measurements.
MacuMira therapy.
Modern diagnostic and pre-testing equipment.
Optosys electronic medical records with integrated diagnostic reports.
Reception and pre-testing staff, opticians, and an optical dispenser support daily operations and the patient experience.

Schedule:

Full-time and part-time schedules are available within the clinic’s patient hours:

Tuesday and Wednesday: 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Thursday and Friday: 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Saturday: 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Your specific days and availability will be discussed during the interview process. The team prepares for the day 15 minutes before the first appointment. Patient volume will develop with your schedule, with active support from the practice.

Compensation:

This opportunity is structured as an independent contractor arrangement with percentage-based compensation. Specific percentages and payment terms will be discussed during the interview process.

A CAD $500 daily minimum is proposed, employee health and dental benefits are not included in this arrangement.
